For the average computer user (one who checks email, listens to music, perhaps downloads pictures from the internet), the difference between our computers and our competitors is nearly imperceptible.  Therefore, the price difference is typically unjustified.  Where we thrive is in the world of memory intensive, time sensitive applications.  In the world of 3D plotting, PC based sounders, and video camera surveillance, the stress placed on components is increasingly intense.  Budget computers are inexpensive because the components used to build them are the lowest grade in their class, and are prone to more errors, a higher failure rate, and increased likelihood of intermittent problems.  The marine environment itself is difficult on computers, adding to the necessity of purchasing a computer you can count on.

In addition to the quality of our components, we use only the best software in our systems, and tailor each computer to the marine environment.  We customize our premium computers with a unique feature, known as KSD (Key-Stroke-Dimming).  This feature allows operators to select two modes of operation for their displays; in Day Mode, the brightness is adjusted to allow for optimal viewing in bright conditions.  (This will still be adjustable within the range of the monitor.)  In Night Mode, the brightness is scaled down to a nominal night time level, which will reduce the blinding light that can emanate from your display.  Again, this will be adjustable within the range of the particular LCD.  Partner one of our computers with one of our Custom Dimming Monitors and you will have a near black solution to one of the most important aspects of night time navigation, being able to glance from your equipment to the high seas without being temporarily blinded.

As you view the specifications of our systems, remember that numbers aren't really a good measure in the computer world.
